We Didn't Rebuild Our Website. We Rebuilt Recruiting

Discover why we rebuilt Cooper from the ground up. Meet the AI-first recruiting platform that combines AI sourcing, candidate screening, and structured interviews into one intelligent hiring workflow.

We Didn't Rebuild Our Website. We Rebuilt Recruiting

A few months ago, we started what we thought would be a straightforward project.

Refresh the website. Improve messaging. Clarify our products. Make Cooper feel more modern.

That was the plan.

But as we got deeper into the work, we realized something uncomfortable. We weren’t redesigning pages. We were trying to explain a world that no longer existed.

Because recruiting had changed. Candidates had changed.

Hiring expectations had changed. AI had changed.

But most recruiting workflows still looked surprisingly familiar. Recruiters were opening more tools than ever. Teams were adding AI features. Yet the actual experience of hiring still felt manual.

And that forced us to ask a bigger question: What should recruiting actually feel like in the AI era?

That question became the beginning of a completely different journey. Today, we’re excited to share the result.

Welcome to the new Cooper. The AI-first recruiting platform.

Recruiting Changed. The Software Didn’t.

Recruiting teams today are operating in a completely different world than they were even a few years ago.

Candidates move faster.

Expectations are higher.

Hiring teams want speed and quality.

Volume is increasing.

AI is changing how people discover opportunities and how companies evaluate talent. But when we looked at how recruiting actually gets done inside most teams, something felt broken.

Recruiters were still spending too much time:

  • Searching
  • Screening
  • Scheduling
  • Following up
  • Moving candidates
  • Updating systems
  • Coordinating across tools
  • Doing operational work

The irony?

The people responsible for making hiring decisions were spending less time actually hiring. And more time managing workflows.

That didn’t feel like progress.

So we asked ourselves a different question: What if recruiting software stopped acting like a system of record?

What if it started becoming a system of execution?

We Didn’t Want to Add AI Features. We Wanted to Rethink the Operating Model.

The easiest thing we could have done was launch another AI feature.

Another assistant. Another chatbot. Another workflow automation.

That’s not what we wanted to build.

Because adding AI to old workflows doesn’t fundamentally change recruiting. It just makes old processes slightly faster.

We believed the bigger opportunity was elsewhere.

What if AI actually helped execute recruiting work? What if recruiters stopped managing every operational task?

What if recruiting became coordinated by intelligent systems, with humans staying in control of decisions?

That idea became the foundation for everything we rebuilt.

Not just the product.

The experience. The positioning. The architecture. The entire platform.

Introducing Cooper - The AI-First Recruiting Platform

Cooper brings sourcing, evaluation, and interviewing into one connected recruiting workflow.

Instead of forcing teams to coordinate across disconnected systems, Cooper helps teams move hiring forward with specialized AI capabilities built directly into the workflow.

At launch, we’re introducing three major capabilities.

Meet Coo — The AI Super Recruiter

Hiring starts with candidate flow. But sourcing needs change depending on hiring goals.

Sometimes teams need active candidates. Sometimes they need to expand reach. Coo helps teams actively generate candidate flow and adapt sourcing based on hiring needs.

Teams can choose between:

Active Candidate Search: Access qualified candidates from Cooper’s network and receive stronger candidate matches faster.

Passive Candidate Search: Discover candidates across 900M+ external profiles to expand reach beyond active applicants.

Instead of spending hours searching and manually building pipelines, teams can focus on engaging the right candidates.

The goal isn’t more profiles. It's a stronger candidate flow.

Meet Scout — Your Screening Agent

Generating candidates is only the beginning. Evaluating incoming applications often becomes the next bottleneck.

Scout helps teams automatically evaluate incoming candidates using configurable qualification logic.

Recruiters define:

  • Must-have criteria
  • Nice-to-have requirements
  • Screen-out rules

Scout then evaluates candidates and organizes them into clear recommendation groups:

  • Ideal
  • Good
  • Needs Review
  • Flagged

Instead of manually reviewing every application equally, teams can focus attention where it matters most.

The goal isn’t eliminating recruiter judgment. It’s helping recruiters spend more time deciding and less time sorting.

Meet Robin — Your AI Interview Agent

Interviews are where recruiting workflows often slow down.

Scheduling delays. Repeated questions. Incomplete notes. Inconsistent evaluation.

Robin helps teams run structured interviews directly inside recruiting workflows.

Teams can use Robin for:

  • Pre-recruiter conversations
  • Structured interviews
  • Follow-up clarification workflows

Robin captures:

  • Interview recordings
  • Transcripts
  • Candidate responses
  • Structured summaries

This creates better context before human conversations happen. And helps teams move faster without losing consistency.

The goal isn’t replacing interviews. It’s making interviews more structured, more scalable, and easier to act on.

Why We Rebuilt Everything

At some point during this journey, we realized something.

If we believed recruiting was changing— we couldn’t just change the homepage. We had to change how Cooper communicated.

How people understood our products. How customers experienced value. How recruiting workflows came together.

That meant rebuilding:

  • The website
  • The platform narrative
  • The product architecture
  • The onboarding experience
  • The way we talk about outcomes
  • The way we think about recruiting

Some ideas survived. Many didn’t. Pages got deleted. Features got simplified. Entire assumptions got challenged.

This launch is the result of hundreds of conversations, iterations, debates, and decisions across product, engineering, design, customer teams, and marketing.

And this is only the beginning.

Our Belief About the Future of Recruiting

There’s a lot of conversation right now about whether AI will replace recruiters.

We think that’s the wrong question.

The better question is: What should recruiters stop doing?

The best recruiting teams in the future won’t win because they have more dashboards. They’ll win because they remove operational drag.

They’ll spend more time:

  • Building relationships
  • Evaluating people
  • Creating better candidate experiences
  • Making hiring decisions

AI should handle more of the execution. Humans should own the outcomes.

That’s the future we’re building toward. And we believe recruiting platforms need to evolve from tools into teammates.

We're already seeing the impact of this shift with customers who use Cooper.

"Cooper was almost self-explanatory from day one—barely any onboarding needed. It's given us real time savings and a much clearer overview of our hiring process. For a mid-sized team like ours, it's a great solution."
— Florian Richter, Managing Director, Boda Borg Germany GmbH

For us, that's what success looks like.

Not replacing recruiters. Not adding more AI features.

But giving recruiting teams back their most valuable resource: time.

When operational work fades into the background, recruiters can focus on what humans do best - building relationships, understanding people, and making confident hiring decisions.

That's the future we're building toward. And we're just getting started.

This Is Version One

Launching the new Cooper is an important milestone for us. But we don't see it as the finish line.

We see it as the foundation.

Recruiting is entering a new era - one where AI doesn't simply assist recruiters with individual tasks, but works alongside them to execute entire workflows. We believe the future of hiring won't be powered by one AI feature or one assistant. It will be powered by a team of specialized AI agents that work together, helping recruiters move faster, make better decisions, and spend more time where they create the most value.

Today's launch is our first step toward that vision.

With Coo, Scout, and Robin, we're introducing the first generation of AI-powered recruiting workflows designed to help teams generate stronger candidate pipelines, evaluate talent more intelligently, and run more structured hiring processes.

But we're only getting started.

In the months ahead, we'll continue expanding Cooper with new AI agents, deeper workflow automation, and more intelligent capabilities across every stage of the hiring journey. Our goal is simple: to help recruiters become 10x more effective, not by replacing them, but by eliminating the operational work that slows great hiring teams down.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll go deeper into:

  • How COO works
  • How Scout changes sourcing
  • How Robin rethinks interviews
  • What we’re learning
  • What comes next

We’re excited to build this with customers, recruiting teams, and the people shaping the future of hiring. For everyone who gave feedback, challenged us, tested ideas, and helped us get here - thank you.

Welcome to the next chapter of Cooper.
